Dr. Rebeca Rios, PhD

Health Psychologist

When we are struggling with emotional or physical pain, hope can be tough to come by. If you are considering psychotherapy, there is good reason to be hopeful. As an evidence-based clinical health psychologist, I feel fortunate to practice at a time when the science behind psychotherapy is in full bloom. I am particularly passionate about mind-body approaches that combine modern cognitive and behavioral therapies with the wisdom that ancient contemplative practices have to offer.

I provide assessment and treatment for a range of concerns related to general health psychology. I see clients for depression, anxiety, pain, insomnia, loss, and stress related to health and the healthcare system. I see adults with emotional and physical health concerns, health care practitioners, and other clients with concerns about mind-body wellbeing.

I believe that creating a nonjudgmental and safe environment in which you feel comfortable discussing problems and exploring ideas is key. Through a collaborative relationship, you will learn new ways to quiet the brain’s natural response to stress, foster resilience to negative experiences, and embrace life’s meaningful moments.
