Dr. Nicole Kabia

Physical Therapist, Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist, Belly Dance Instructor

For as long as she can remember, Dr. Kabia has always had a passion for helping others. As a child, she fell in love with dance and wanted to become a professional choreographer, but when she was introduced to physical therapy in undergrad, she quickly realized her true purpose.

She completed the Doctorate of Physical Therapy program at Duke University and immediately started practicing in Orthopedics. Her passion for learning and helping others with orthopedic injuries led her to complete a Fellowship in Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy and become certified in Trigger Point Dry Needling. During her 14+ years of clinical experience, she has found that an interdisciplinary and holistic approach is the most effective approach to treating musculoskeletal dysfunctions that lead to injury, chronic pain, and movement inefficiencies.

Although she was living out her purpose, something was missing – DANCE!

In 2007, she took her first belly dance class with Dr. Sunyatta Amen and immediately knew she found her new dance home. During her practice at Mamasita’s Dance Studio, she discovered how to combine the two loves of her life- dance and healing the body.

It was on the dance floor, under the tutelage of Dr. Amen that Dr. Kabia discovered the physical and holistic healing powers of belly dance. She studied under Dr. Amen to become a certified belly dance Instructor and combined her passions for belly dance and healing. Through her professional knowledge and personal experience, she is here to help guide you through healing from injury and chronic pain and to get you back into living your healthiest life!

Her treatment approach focuses on addressing the cause of dysfunction, not just the symptoms. She believes in the importance of treating the whole person, not just a specific part. Our body is designed as a unit that requires a thorough examination of the whole body, including lifestyle influences.

Dr. Kabia firmly believes in a multidisciplinary team approach to healing, and likes to work closely with a team of healthcare and holistic providers to ensure that every client receives the best care possible.
